United Kingdom is about to hold the world’s biggest trial of electric vehicles. The event is arranged in purpose to socialize the using of electric and hybrid vehicles towards the public.

The trial will involve the hi-tech eco-friendly cars, right strait on the road. Three hundred and forty vehicles will be loaned to people in eight locations around the country, comprising London, Conventry, Birmingham and Newcastle.

Each location is going to be run by consortium, which consists of car manufactures, power companies and universities, to do an overhaul of the hybrid and all electric vehicles. Drivers recruitment is also the territory of the consortium.

Later on, both drivers and the cars will be monitorized. The drivers will be in hand with Oxford Brookes University and Conventry University, and the cars will be tracked via satellite by Strathclyde and Aston. The power companies are in cooperation with car manufactures, and will also be involved in the same frame of further research on the infrastructure development.

The trial it self is said to be held in 2010.
