The world today has been very familiar with mobile phones, a previous research from UN Telecommunication Agency revealed that 67 percent of world population owns mobile phone. As we also able to see that mobile phones technology has been developing so fast with so overwhelming features and various operation system.

For some people, especially for seniors or elderly people, most of the time it is not easy to opearte the device. Concerning with the situation, IBM has made a two years research program, the purpose it off course to develop a special software to be applied on mobile phones. Later on it is expected that those (elderly) or those who have physical shortage will not find dificulty in using the cellpphone(s).

Ben Wood, Research Director at the British consultancy CCS Insight stated that mobiles phone manufactures should be able to adapt making mobiles for the elderly. In case trying to attract a certain generation to grow, mobiles manufactures must be aware of it.

Previously UK issued making a laptop computer named ALEX, which is said to be designed for beginners, seniors and the phobias.

Microsoft has been long rumored to unveil Microsoft own cell phone. A long rumored mentioned that Verizon US has even prepared to sell two types of Microsoft cell-phone around May or June 2010.

As Quoted from Reuters on Friday (5/3/2010), a confidential source said that the cell-phone is designed fulfilling the trend with the social networking site provided. Microsoft also said to develop the mobile device with code-named PROJECT PINK.

Another source mentioned that the handset will be made by Sharp, with Microsoft and Verizon logo pinned on it’s body. A technology site Gizmodo also claims to have a lead of a promotional material to advertise Microsoft phone.

Responding to this news, representatives from Verizon and Microsoft still has not given any comments. Microsoft so far is known focused in creating mobile phone software. But microsoft must face a tight competition from Apple, Google and others.

The previous news mentioned that Microsoft’s flagship cell-phone will be named Turtle, and Pure. Both cell-phone is designed to fulfill the social networking site.

Who would have thought that the wreck of the old phones could lead to tens of kilograms of gold worth billions. Hard to believe? Well, Japan has proven. Announced by Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan, 567,000 mobile phones are collected in the recycling program that was held by the Japanese government. Junk phone can be ‘precious metal mines, apparently because phone has a number of high-quality metal.

Japan is a country that keeps campaigning phone recycling program parents. Approximately 1,800 electronic stores are participating in recycling campaign, which was held in November 2009-February 2010. To seduce the old phone owners to participate in this program, available coupons valued with the total amout of 230 million yen was given to 158,800 people with a lottery system. A person who gave the old phones, they would a ticket for the lottery.
