A rumor which mentioned that Facebook will make a smartphone seems true, the device was given a pass code ‘Buffy’. In the All Things D, it was reported that Buffy is the result of collaboration up and the Taiwanese smartphone vendor, HTC. However, control of the project is still held up by the command of Chief Technology Officer Bret Taylor. Android operating system will be selected as the basic platform for Buffy. Well, because the device is specially cultivated by Facebook, this phone will automatically put forward the access to social networking than other phones.
It has not been mentioned what kind of special access will be offered up, and this HTC. But it seems, Buffy would have expected a deeper integerasi features with the Facebook service.
Facebook party itself still has not given its official statement about the appearance of Buffy. But from the comments that had ejected, the giant social networking site does not dismiss that the mobile industry into one of their next shot lands.
“Our strategy in the mobile business is actually simple. We think that every device will be better when he is more ‘social’. And we were trying to wade through the entire mobile industry,” said Facebook spokesman, quoted by All Things D.
“Many parties, such as operators, hardware vendors, makers of the OS, and application developers to bring social networking experience to more people around the world,” he continued.
Windows Phone 7 (WP7/WinMob 7) has not been officially released yet, but many rumors have been circulating handsets bearing this OS. HTC Mozart is one of those which appeared dealing with the rumor.
Some leaks as written in Electronista, the impressive HTC Mozart will be armed with 1 GHz processor Qualcomm QSD8250, 512 MB ROM and 576 MB of RAM. The internal memory is 8 GB, but not knowing whether it support expansion with MicroSD.
Another impressive feature in HTC Mozart is perhaps its 8MPx camera which also completed with xenon flash illumination, while the audio system is supported bye Audio DSP with SRS and Dolby Mobile (which reminds us alot to Nokia N8). HTC Mozart has 3.7 inch bringing a Super LCD technology (SLCD), supposedly the same to the efficacy of Super Amoled.
HTC Mozart leaks has also shown up in the form of video. Physically, HTC Mozart is looking very similar to Google’s Nexus. Not that surprising actually considering Nexus was also made by HTC.
Like other WP7-based phone, HTC Mozart is probably in the final stages of production. WP7 OS it self is predictably to be unveiled in October, while the handset is marketed starting in November. Aside from Mozart HTC, other handsets which uses WP7 is said LG and Samsung E900.
HTC Hero will update its Operation System from android 1.5 to android 2.1 version. As quoted from crave.cnet.co.uk, the updated version will be executed in two steps.
The first step will be a preparation which can be considered as baring the Hero then covering it with iodine, and the second update step is replacing the HTC Hero’s organ with eclair (name for android 2.1).
Both update steps will be detected in HTC Hero next automatically checks for the updates. One thing users must pay attention is that the second update will wipe-out all the data from HTC phone. So make sure to do back up first. Gmail and other Google data sould be stored, and apps can be re-downloaded from Android market for free.
Crave.cnet.co.uk suggested in its article to grab the free 30 days trial of MyBackUp Pro to save all our text messages, setting and apps in one step. The second update will be a big leap, even HTC it self suggested that we get into a Wi-Fi network before download the eclair.
