67 Percent of World Population Has Mobile Phones
The phone today seems to have become ‘a must have device’. Not only in rich countries, but has covered up to the midst and poor countries in the world. Quoted from Stlttoday, Thursday (02/25/2010).
UN Telecommunications Agency (International Telecommunication Union) reported that about 4.6 billion or 67 percent of the world population has been using the mobile phones. The number keeps increasing from year to year. In 2002, only 1 billion mobile phone users in the world. “This level is remarkably grows,” said UN Telecommunications Agency.
The report Includes the use of mobile phone, home phone and internet use in 159 countries. The report revealed that 1.7 billion people or 26 percent of the total population connected to the internet world last year, raising 11 percent in 2002. However, an alarming facts also reveals that that four out of five people living in poor countries have not been touched by the internet connection
