The ‘beehive’ Honeycomb OS aka Android 3.0 has been officially launched. Reported by Computerworld a week ago, this brand-new tablet operating system presents six special features. Here is the six interesting features from Android Honeycomb.
Better Switching And Better Multitasking
Android is the leader in multitasking applications, and honeycomb was again enhanced. In Honeycomb users can easily switch applications by simply touching an icon in the system bar. After that then you will see a thumbnail of the application running.
Better Capability To Vary Widget
Capability against a variety of widgets promised would be more indulgent of its users. For example widget to display Google’s Gmail e-mail, users do not need to open the Gmail application to browse in it, just need to scrolling of the widget only. Another benefit is, it is hoped the developers could create applications that are increasingly attractive.
Increased Ability To Copy-Paste
Several previous Android series was already able to do copy-paste, but some users questioned the text selection problem which is rather difficult. Now it is trying to be resolved, in addition to copy-paste the Google also added to share it on the selected text.

Google officially unveiled the latest android OS version 3.0 aka android Honeycomb. Honeycomb OS is believed will compete the dominance of Apple iPad in tablets realms. Honeycomb was deliberately made for tablets devices with large screen and high computing capability. Though some analysts assess the presence of Honeycomb will not significantly alter the market mapping, but Colin Gilis of BCB, the queue of the Honeycomb launching reminded to iPad launching.
Reuters reported that iPad from Apple still leads the tablets field, but the smartphones are is dominated by android OS as the most popular OS and overthrown Symbian OS in the world.
Google’s ambition to beat iPad tablet market will depend on support from the manufacture of Honeycomb, telecommunication operators and application developers makers. Google currently had more than 100 thousand Android apps, still less compared to Apple apps which counted to 300 thousand .
With the introduction of Honeycomb, the big vendors were expected to soon release a tablet-based OS ‘beehive’ is the latest in mid-2011. Motorola Xoom for example, would start shipping in the first quarter of this year.

Rumors around Google-Samsung on Google Nexus Two project has been circulating hard. Last leaks on cyber-world mentioned that the handset will be titled Google Nexus S handset, which will use Gingerbread OS, the newest android OS.
In one of the article on The Inquirer online last Friday, a tech site named Xda Developers has claimed to have got an exclusive pictures which showed that Nexus S will adopt the Gingerbread. Some of the photos displayed also showing a form of Google Nexus S. “Thanks to the source who chooses to remain anonymous, we got exclusive photos Gingerbread (at Nexus S). We also got some pictures Samsung Nexus S,” claims the website.
According to crave.cnet.co.uk, the picture tends to blur even shows a little that the website claims can be accounted for. Quite clearly visible on the screen that the handset is using Android version is 2.3, aka Gingerbread. Estimates on Google Nexus Two specification includes dual core processors ARMv7 CPU, 512MB or 328MB of RAM and Super AMOLED screen.
